After many years of service to the ECGC community, we, the new Executive Committee would like to thank the former committee members for their dedicated enthusiasm to keep ECGC alive and vibrant!

We thank:

  • Nick Ewing who joined us in 2002 and became chairman in 2012
  • Kevin McMahon who started his ECGC career in 1996 and is since 2007 our secretary
  • Michael Laske who also started in Bordeaux in 1996 and took care of our finances since 2004
  • Gummi Fridriksson who joined Kevin and Michael at the same year and was maintaining the former website since 2007

Introducing the new Executive Committee since 2025:

Barry Keane, Chairman

started 1993 in ATC in Shannon in 1993. 
First ECGC was Carden Park in 2009. Played and won Team Nett (now the Eddy trophy) with Team Switzerland in Vierumaki Finland, 2011. He will lead ECGC the coming years.

Claudio Cannavicci, Deputy Chairman

started playing golf in 1999 and his first attendance to the ECGC was in 2000 at Bournemouth. Has retired from ENAV since 2020. Winner of the Alasdair Murray trophy in 2024.

Mariann Hintz, Treasurer

worked as an ATCO in Geneva ACC, went to university and eventually left the ops room for training. Today I work at EUROCONTROL Brussels in an administrative function
Her first ECGC was 2007 in Semlin.

Andrea Giovannetti, Secretary

TWR Air Traffic Controller since 2009 at LIPZ. Started with golf in 2019 and first ECGC was La Manga in 2023. Miraculously survived the water on hole 10 of the Brabazon 2025.

Simon Smidt, Records Secretary

is working at Flow Control in Eurocontrol Brussels. Playing golf since 2000 and at ECGC since 2013 Newcastle, Slaley Hall. Winner of the Alasdair Murray trophy at The Belfry in 2025. Takes care of this website and the rankings.
